Next Essay
This week is quite simple: read Persepolis for Tuesday, and write/draw/make a non-fiction comic for Thursday. It's fine with me if you go over the two page limit. And this isn't required, but if you can scan and post your pages, we'd all be deeply deeply grateful. You can post pictures via one of the icons where you find the font, italics, etc when posting.
As for the final project, the assignment is largely up to you. The requirements are: 1) write (or make/draw if you're going the comic route) a ten to fifteen page non-fiction piece and 2) write a one page (a full page--more is fine) analysis/reflection on how this final piece fits into the issues in the course as a whole. Of particular interest, as you might imagine, is the following question: How is this non-fiction writing?
The piece is due via email by 5 pm on Friday, May 22nd (the Friday of finals week).
One can buy Persepolis in two forms: volume 1 and volume 2 are sold separately, and a Complete Persepolis (which has both volumes combined) is also available. We're only dealing with volume 1 in this course, so either buy that (red cover) or the Complete. You can purchase it anywhere, or order it here.
